Grandes de Apiane: A Wine Bottle Design that Embodies Elegance and Nature

Elegance and aesthetics meet nature in the design of Grandes de Apiane, a wine bottle created by Avanza Packaging SL.

The complete design of both the bottle and graphic elements was inspired by the green vineyard hills surrounding the winery. This wine bottle embodies the elements of nature with a vegetal embossing design that incorporates an elegant label with modern typographical elements. Through careful paper treatments, every individual element has been crafted to convey the wine's unique personality.

Elegance and aesthetics were the guiding principles for Avanza Packaging SL when creating the Grandes de Apiane wine bottle. Named Helena, this bottle exudes seduction through its original and innovative design. The beauty of its embossing, wrapping around a creative bottle shape, sets it apart from traditional cabernet or burgundy-shaped wine containers. The label features premium details such as elegant typography, hot foil stamping, and relief silk-screen printing, adding to its overall appeal.

The realization of the Grandes de Apiane design involved a meticulous process. It all began with a hand-drawn sketch, establishing the main design features and creating the bottle's identity. Avanza Packaging SL's specialists then worked on the technical aspects using 3D structural engineering programs. One of the biggest challenges was adapting the design engraving for glass manufacturing processes, particularly meeting demolding requirements.

The Grandes de Apiane wine bottle measures 80mm x 313mm and has a capacity of 75 cl. The project started in January 2015 when the customer confirmed the technical drawing and was completed in June 2015 when the bottle entered production.

Avanza Packaging SL overcame several challenges during the project, with the integration of the design embossing around the bottle being the most significant. Ensuring adequate demolding and smooth production by the glassworks required careful attention to detail and expertise.

The Grandes de Apiane design received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that showcase outstanding expertise and innovation. The Grandes de Apiane design stood out for its strong technical characteristics, splendid artistic skill, and ability to evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
